Pico Island is the second biggest of nine islands in the Azores. This group of islands sits 1600 km of the coast of Europe and are a part of Portugal.

As a studio we traveleved to Pico Island to locate our sites for the year. The wild nature of the island and the many contrast was what could catagoriese the island as one of the most special places many of us has been. The island is often called the 'Black Island', with good reason. Thevolcanic stone gives the place its charateristic black colour. Yet, the island isn't all black; it's contrastred with many hues of green, which adds to it's uniqness.

Here are some B/W photographs of the island, and there'll be much more to come as this is our site for the rest of the year!
